Hi there,
So far I have glads armour, the helm with +1 tactics and reduces damage from attacks. I just got a sup vigor from rune farming so i can add that to my armour aswell. I don't have enough for a sup absorb so would a major be okay?
Also I don't have any form of zealous weapon, are they really essential?
I don't wanna go in until i am really fully prepared.
Based on experiences, do you believe axe or sword is best for this?

Zealous and Sword is good and you need it if you are going to use racthoh build b/c you use flurry and 100 blades to keep the flurry up constantly and i do mine wiht a major abso and i do just find.

I can't speak on behalf of the inferior axe wielders , but like most builds everyone seems to like the axe. Zealous is essential if you plan on using Flurry, or you'll have to be w/mo and use Balthazar's Spirit in order to maintain a constant Flurry.
Major should be okay since you'll have a lot of defense.

I use major vigor and absorb (lost too many sups to salvages ><), and it works fine. Healing Hands also helps a lot in the survivability.

Spiders everywhere, and then there none, I cleared the cave, yessss, thanks to
Racthoh on his guide and video, I still need alot of practice on this one, but I now know where to run to and keep running to if need be. The degen from poison is tough,
I keep dieing when 5 or more spiders were attacking me, so I had to go real slow, but
the payoff was good, I got a ruby, 3 shards and 2 nice gold shadow bows, and a full
inventory, now for more practice and then the real test, soloing UW.
thx

By the way, the spiders using healing spring can be stopped without interrupts or KD's. If you stand right next to them, for whatever reason, they won't use healing spring so it's quite possible to fight three spiders that are standing right next to each other. The problem sometimes is that the spider that's farthest from you will still try to use it so stand next to the closest two and attack the farthest one first. Makes for a lot less running around and getting the job done faster. =)

So I'm not crazy...I can't belive they(Anet) made this easier. When this thread started, you had to alternate your whacking to interrupt all the healing springs.
Looks like it won't "nerfed" after all?

I always enjoyed having people ask "how did you do that" whenever I'd change targets to interrupt a spring. Now the run can be done faster since I can bunch them up and Hundred Blades for a bunch of adrenaline.

Racthoh, Thanks alot man, Ive done the UW one as well but my best was 3 Aataxes in one run xD. Still was very fun to try!
For the axes wielders out there, this is what I use:
Major Vigor, Major absorpt, Wyvern armor, knights boots.
Cleave
Penetrating Blow
Cyclone Axe
Physical Resistance
Watch Yourself
Sprint
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet
I pull the 2 dryders first, kill them, then rush in for the Last one and kill him there... The spiders start to spawn and i Make my way to the Dryder inside the cave... After you kill him, go in a bunch of spiders... The thing is: If you hit them with a Cyclone axe, they will not use healing spring anymore.
So if yoou are fighting a group of 3, but there is one behind that you can't hit with your cyclone, that one will use healing Spring to heal the ones you are hiting... So i Reposition myself alot to make sure the spider i am focusing on doesnt get healed, and try to hit as many at once as I can, so one cyclone axe charges penetrating blow and cleave straight away =).

I have been doing the spider run for a couple of days now, but today when i tried it....... BAD BAD BAD..... the patrol of shadow beasts that come back when your fighting the stick guys, now comes much futher in twards the beach. I tried it 3 times and could not find a safe place between the patrol and ancient skales. Im wanting to know if anyone else has encountered this same issue.

Sometimes the first group of scales are way too close to be able to safely engage the dryder/driftwoods so if you see that kind of a spawn, just run past them. It's better to leave a mob untouched than to get sammiched by the shadow warriors and skales. Besides, usually after you run past the scales, you can use your bow to aggro the dryder/driftwoods. =)

I Did it!!
I'm not gonna lie, it was really damn hard.
Start
Outside wasn't that tough even though I did have a couple close calls when it came to more then 3 attacking me.
I found the hardest part was the run to the cave.
Problems:
#1 - The scale placement can get really annoying to find safe location to pull your guys.
#2 - Sometime your armoured spiders like to stick together, on top, or really close to eachother making it impossable to hurt them more then there partner heals them.
#3 - The tediousness of pulling them makes you want to quite if your not getting great drops.
Well I have a full inventory of random shadow crap, all I got was some garbage purple hammer, and 3 shards, and about 1k in Gold.
This took me close to 2 hours, made me kinda feel like it was not worth the time spent, but maybe I just had a really bad run, or the drops have been nurfed already I do not know.
Anyway I used no superior rune and only Major Vigor and Major Absorb.
In the end im happy to say I acomplished farming these jerks myself and completed the entire cave without dieing

Dolyak Sig-38 armor
Phisical Resistance-40 armor
Healing Sig- 130 health
HUndred Blades-Mjor energy boost
Flurry-Energy and adrenalin boost
Sever Arterly-Bleed
Final thrust for teh win!
Sprint
I never died once on this build.

I was a bit skeptical at first...after my fist initial try went Haywire. But after that it was a breeze. I think I got a bad spawn the first time...and i wasn't sure how to handle the skales. But Thank you so much for this great guide and for sharing it with us! It's put alot of life back into farming!

i tried this, i make it to the first group of the 3 spiritwood things or whatever, i slaughter them.
but then the shadow guys aggro to me before the first dryder, i run to escape them but get boxed in my like 6 skale sitting right back where the spiritwood guys were, and i try and run past them and end up hitting the other groups of skales and i get horribly destroyed.
the same exact thing has happened to me 4 times in a row now.
